Software Requirements Manager (Avionics)
We are currently looking for a Software Requirements Manager to join Thales UK Avionics Division
based in Crawley. Working hybrid in the office for 3 days per week.
This role will be directly working for Thales FlytLink products which gives the aircraft the capability to utilise the Iridium satellite network to provide
based voice and data communication services, from pilots liaising with Air Traffic Control, right through to passengers streaming live sport and the latest movies.
The Software Requirements Manager is a key role for creating the bridge between the Systems Engineering and the Software delivery teams.
You’ll be supporting the Software Architect and Software Engineering Manager in delivering software across a range of projects, operating systems and development environments.
We are looking for an Senior Software Engineer who has experience of the full Software Development Lifecycle. You will have worked on different systems and solutions and have a high level view of the system, its components and interfaces
You will be able to incorporate non function requirements / quality attributes into the architecture and requirements e.g. extensibility, maintainability etc
Technical Requirements
Use of Configuration/Change Management tools e.g. Jira, GIT, BitBucket, Nexus
Experience of DOORS (or Equivalent) for Requirements Management
Use of build and test tools, e.g. CUnit, VectorCAST,
Software Process Management and Governance
Domain knowledge of aircraft based communication systems
Experience of controlling, setting policies and improvements to configuration management
(including but not limited to source code, tooling, documentation)
UML design experience, e.g. with Sparx EA
Desirable
ANSI C
C++ experience to C+11/14 level
Experience with static code analysis tools (e.g. SonarQube, Klocwork, CppCheck, Clang-Tidy).
Awareness of good cyber security development practices (e.g. consideration of attack surfaces,
least privilege etc.)
Interest in DevOps (to liaise with tools teams to be aware of upcoming changes and/or get
assistance).
Avionics development experience
DO-178C (Level D)
