We are currently working on behalf of an established charity to recruit a Social Worker into their established team in Pontefract. This is a rare opportunity to work in a 9-5 environment with a small caseload within a supportive environment. This is an office-based role with local travel expected
Details:
- Job Title: Social Worker
- Location: Office based in Pontefract with regular local travel
- Salary: £33,413 per annum
- Job Type: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hrs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a small caseload of clients with a variety of needs to enhance physical, emotional and social well-being.
- Carry out high-quality assessments
- Provide support, guidance and casework supervision for the wider staff team in the absence of the Senior Social Worker.
- Support the team in safeguarding issues
- Provide a range of interventions in response to the assessed needs of clients, including welfare benefits advice, advocacy, emotional support and practical advice to improve quality of life.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with partner agencies to establish a range of networks and to ensure an integrated, holistic and multidisciplinary approach
Experience/ Qualifications:
- A degree in social work or equivalent social work qualification and current professional registration
- Experience of leading/managing a team with the ability to manage & effectively prioritise caseloads
- Experience of community-based social care services with experience of delivery with older people and / or disability services
- Knowledge and understanding of the values and principles underpinning working with vulnerable adults and their carers within the community setting,
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice, particularly concerning older people, mental health and disability
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with good judgement and logical decision-making ability
- A valid driving license and access to own vehicle
