As a Senior Unit Head you would be playing a vital role in the successful running of the nursery, working closely alongside the Manager and Deputy Manager, and responsible for managing Unit Heads, Nursery Assistants, whilst providing the best care for children at all times. .
Responsibilities
- Office in charge at beginning and end of day as required.
- To follow the roles and responsibilities of the Manager/Deputy Manager when they are absent from the nursery.
- To ensure all play programmes are appropriately delivered and implemented within units.
- To fulfil the role of Designated Officer.
- To show prospective parents around the unit.
- To work with management to ensure efficient and effective running of the branch and to contribute ideas for improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- QCF Level 5 Leadership for Children's Care, Learning and Development (or working towards).
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to a quality child centred environment.
- A good level of understanding of children's individual needs.
- To display a keen interest in children.
- Have worked with children between ages 0-7.
Desirable Skills
- BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies.
- Prior experience of managing staff.
- Certificate in Child Protection Training.
- Valid Paediatric First Aid.
