What you'll be doing; To work with the Head of Policy and Stakeholder Engagement and the team to support the development and implementation of a policy and stakeholder engagement plan which positions Veolia at the forefront of strategically important policy developments across Energy, Water and Waste.
- Support on stakeholder engagement and advancing Veolia's interests across government, parliament, industry regulators and industry groups.
- Work with internal stakeholders (technical and commercial) to help define Veolias policy positions, ensure they are provided with opportunities to inform and develop robust positions.
- Ensure robust tracking and monitoring of the external environment to ensure Veolia is aware of new and upcoming policy and legislation that will impact the business.
- Support the identification and monitoring of external requests, consultations and calls for evidence. Contributing to the development of high quality responses to relevant external requests.
- Manage and oversee the proactive and timely delivery of updates on new and emerging policy, ensuring that key internal stakeholders are informed.
- Support the Head of Policy and Stakeholder Engagement in delivering the agreed lobbying and engagement strategy, aligned with key strategic objectives
- Establish and maintain Veolia's relationships with key trade associations and external stakeholders
- Oversee the Energy Policy Assistant in developing and refining the approach to tracking of key policy developments to ensure continued oversight and planning.
- Work closely with wider Corporate Affairs and communication teams to provide information and support on key policy matters to help ensure a joined up approach, marketing, external affairs and internal comms
- Prepare briefs for Veolia representatives attending key meetings and events
- Provide clear guides and content for customer support around legislation changes which impact the business.
- Support development of briefings for customer/ web content as needed.
- Prepare timely and relevant communications to update internal stakeholders on key policy developments
- Maintain and champion good practice around the production and sharing of updates following external meetings and events
- Prepare presentations and briefings of new legislation and policy to be provided to internal and external stakeholders
- Work with senior leaders to develop policy positions that prepare the business for the impact of new legislation
What we're looking for; - Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a subject closely related to policy, energy, sustainability, politics or environmental studies.
- Knowledge of the policy and legislative landscape in which Veolia operates (Energy, Water, Waste)
- Experience of engaging with external and internal stakeholders at a high level in a high regulated environment.
- Excellent communication skills, experience of responding to requests for information, with a persuasive and impactful writing style.
- Presenting to audiences of all levels
- Developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, including working with a wide range of stakeholders and representing the company's positions..
- Monitoring external engagement
