So, we are looking for a Distribution Centre Manager to join our brandnew team in Lincoln!

Our Distribution Centres play key roles within our Huws Gray Supply Chain Solutions business as they ensure that the materials required across our Partnering Storesnetwork are delivered on time.
We rely on our Distribution Centre Managers to oversee the efficient and effective distribution of products to our customers and branches. The role is critical to the contiuned growth of the Supply Chain Solutions business. Working in one of our Distribution Centres you’ll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer brilliant customer service and to get the job done.
Here’s a quick overview of some of the things you can expect to do as a Distributuion Centre Manager with Huws Gray:
- Develop and implement distribution strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. This includes determining the most efficient distribution channels, transportation methods, and warehouse locations.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure that products are readily available for distribution while avoiding overstocking or understocking issues.
- Oversee the transportation of goods, which may involve coordinating with carriers, negotiating transportation contracts
- Manage and optimise warehouse operations, including storage, organisation, and order fulfillment processes.
- Ensure that safety and security requirements are followed.
- Manage and lead a team of distribution staff, including warehouse workers, sales team and drivers providing guidance, training & performance evaluations.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that products are handled and shipped without damage or defects.
- Monitor and control distribution costs, including transportation expenses and any labor costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective solutions where appropriate.
- Analyse reports and use data analytics tools to track distribution performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for process improvement.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, resolving distribution-related issues, and addressing customer inquiries or complaints

We're looking for someone who has a proven track record in a leadership role managing a similar warehouse/distribution centre environment. As well as this we'd also like you to demonstrate the following:
- A good understanding courier processes tomaximising margin benefits for the business.
- Good understanding on how financial metrics and subsequently the key financial levers to pull that impacts the profitability of the distribution function
- A broad knowledge of Health & Safety in the warehousing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
- Creative initiative with strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to build strong relationships, both externally and internally.
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- Versatile and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- PC literacy Skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize distribution processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, customer demands, and industry trends
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and quality control.
