Job description
This role is for one of the biggest building services consultancies, they are currently looking for a Civil Engineer to join the Design and Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice, to work on projects based principally in their Swansea office but with opportunities to work at their locations elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
Job Description:
You will be part of a team delivering a broad range of water-based infrastructure projects involving: coastal, river, drainage, ports, coastal and reservoirs. You will have strong technical and task management skills
Requirements
- Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Recently or nearly professionally qualified with the ICE or CIWEM.
Essential Criteria
- Ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meeting project deadlines.
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation to drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.
- Experience of working with key clients such as Local Authorities, Government agencies, and/or major Contractors.
- Proficiency in relevant design standards.
- Ability to prepare reports and collate specifications.
- Experience in the conceptual and detailed design.
- Experience of delivering technical work packages.
- Good understanding of design procedures, risk assessments, change control, checking and review.
- Computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office suite and familiarity with relevant engineering analysis software packages.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in the use of design software.
- Broad interest in water related engineering disciplines e.g. flooding, drainage, ports and coastal.
- Experience and familiarity of consenting requirements for the water or marine related schemes.
- Interest in developing skills in digital engineering.
