Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Plymouth Area

Location: Plymouth and Surrounding Areas

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive salery between £80 - £90 a day

Start Date: Easter 2024

About Us: Teaching Personnel is a dynamic and inclusive educational institution committed to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our passionate team in the Plymouth area.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Manage and respond effectively to challenging behavior, applying appropriate strategies.
- Support students with their academic and social development.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the overall well-being of students.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, especially in an SEN setting, is desirable.
- Ability to drive and access to own vehicle is essential for travel within the Plymouth area.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and continuous professional development.
- Knowledge of strategies for managing challenging behavior is highly advantageous.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs would be beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
