Still I Rise Charity is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of youth through art. We are currently conducting classes for children of Ukrainian refugees who have relocated to Buckinghamshire due to the war. We have recently been presented with an opportunity to initiate a project aimed at children aged 11 to 18 who are at risk of engaging in antisocial behaviour. This project is initially planned for a duration of two years, with the possibility of extension. Role Description We are offering a part-time, on-site role for an Art Teacher in the heart of High Wycombe town center. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting two consecutive classes every Friday. The schedule is organized as follows: classroom setup from 16:00 to 16:30, teaching Class 1 from 16:30 to 17:45, transition period from 17:45 to 18:15, teaching Class 2 from 18:15 to 19:30, followed by cleanup from 19:30 to 20:00. As the lead teacher, you will be tasked with planning and implementing the curriculum, utilizing a diverse range of mediums such as drawing, acrylics on canvas, watercolors, clay modeling, crafts, mixed media, and any other mediums you recommend. Your responsibilities include ensuring the effective delivery of the art curriculum to students aged 11 and above, planning and conducting engaging and inclusive art lessons, monitoring student progress, assessing student work to provide constructive feedback, and advising on materials required for future classes. Additionally, you may be required to generate performance reports or provide oral recorded feedback on student progress. The class size will be up to 16 pupils, and you will be supported by a teaching assistant during sessions. We are seeking a candidate with experience and authority in managing potentially challenging behaviors while simultaneously building trusted relationships with the students.
