Job description

Currently we are seeking to hire a Deli Assistant to join our team in Ballymena. As a Deli Assistant your role includes serving deli food to customers and helping them with product choices and suggestions. To fulfil the requirements for the position of Deli Assistant, we seek candidates with prior experience in Deli or other Fresh Food Retail. Main duties of a retail Deli assistant typically include, but not limited: - Preparing and serving deli food products such as raw meat, sausages, fish. cheese, etc.. - Assisting customers with their deli orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. - Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the deli area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and display cases. - Monitoring and rotating stock to ensure freshness and prevent waste. - Adhering to food safety regulations and following proper food handling procedures at all times. - Performing heavy lifting tasks, such as moving crates of stock or large food items, as required for stocking and organisation..

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 months experience in Deli or other Fresh Food Retail for Deli Assistant role is required.
• Full flexibility is required, including the availability to work on day shifts: 5 days a week from Monday to Sunday, which may include bank holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to learn, self-development, and a desire for success while contributing to a positive team environment and promoting our brand.

Desirable Skills

• Sales experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in one of the Eastern European languages (Polish, Ukrainian, Romanian, Lithuanian, Croatian, etc.)
