What we do. We’re the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry - supplying meals, salads, desserts, pizza and bread to leading grocery retailers including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. About the role. In this challenging and varied role you will support with leading the Payroll Team to deliver an efficient, effective, and compliant service with a high level of customer service. You will manage and run the weekly and salaried payroll in accordance with UK Government tax regulations, HMRC and Bakkavor controls, local procedures, policies and guidelines. You will manage, develop, mentor, coach and provide guidance to a team of Payroll Associates to enable them to deliver an efficient and compliant Payroll and Pensions service for the UK. You will resolve system and process issues and identify and drive forward opportunities for improvement. About you Experience of successfully line managing a payroll team, including the ability to coach and develop others Excellent spreadsheet (e.g. MS Excel) skills including the ability to query and validate large volumes of data Strong working knowledge and experience of HMRC, tax regulations and pensions legislation Specialist knowledge and experience of all aspects of a payroll function Proactive, organised and sound analytical/problem solving skills Excellent time management and prioritisation skills Strong and articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Ability to handle confidential information discretely, professionally and appropriately Ability to work under pressure and remain calm Willingness to challenge existing practices and suggest improvements Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills What you’ll receive.
