Job description

Applications are welcomed for the role of Stroke Consultant Physician situated at a District General Hospital on the picturesque Southern coast of the UK. We are in search of a new stroke physician to handle day-to-day stroke care and contribute to the ongoing transformation of stroke services, aligning with our strategy and recent business case approval.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing in-patient and out-patient care for individuals referred with suspected stroke or TIA.
• Engaging in clinical and related activities such as audit, research, and governance to ensure consistent high standards of patient care.
• Participating in a 24-hour acute stroke service, administering thrombolysis, and offering guidance on other specialist treatments.
• Contributing to consultant ward rounds during weekends and public holidays.
• Offering clinical advice for community stroke services as needed.
• Delivering medical education and conducting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as appropriate.
• Contributing to the enhancement of clinical quality and effectiveness, particularly in areas where developments intersect with advancements in stroke care.

Qualifications and Experience

• MRCP or its overseas equivalent.
• 5 years clinical experience in stroke medicine
• Ability to develop effective working relationships and team working
