Job description
An established supplier of childrenswear to the high street are looking for an experienced Designer to join their busy team. You must have a childrenswear and babywear background working with both boys and girls products and be either graphic design or styling design led.
The Role:
- Designing childrenswear /babywear (age range 0 years upwards, both boys and girls).
- Stay upto date with babywear trends.
- Generate and maintain a high standard of design within the brief.
- Co-ordinate with the sales team and Technical team to ensure design and fits ate within the required specifications/costs.
- Analyse sales feedback from customers to ensure new designs are based on best sellers.
- Create and send new sample request, line drawings, style details and artwork to the factories.
- Supplying the factories with clear details and accurate artwork.
- Checking and maintaining license portal websites including concept, strike-offs and sample uploads.
- Checking approvals, initial samples/strike-offs/lab-dips/trim cards/PP samples.
- Attending weekly meetings with suppliers and licenses.
- Regular store visits.
- Managing accounts including high street retailers/supermarkets.
- Managing critical paths.
- Liaising with factories in the Far East ensuring quality and deliveries are on time.
- Presenting ideas to clients and buying teams.
- Preparing briefs, technical packs and trend boards.
- Market research.
Requirements:
- Experience of childrens/babywear both girls and boys.
- Have worked with high street retailers/ supermarkets.
- Either graphic design led or styling led Designer.
- Exceptional communication, organisational and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of critical paths.
- Experience of liaising with Far East on a daily basis.
- Confident when designing on-trend commercial products from initial concept to final design.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Management of high street/supermarket accounts
- A background in licensed goods is advantageous.
