Job description
What you will do in your working day
Duties to include:
Summary of Role: To assist the transport manager in the smooth running of the transport office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate production of picking slips from the warehouse
- Highlight any Health and Safety issues to your line manager. It is your responsibility to ensure you perform all your tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company Health and Safety rules and working practices
- Shipment confirmation of picked orders, and loads prior to despatch
- Producing Export and customs documents
- Accurate preparation of driver’s paperwork
- Drivers debriefing
- Delivery and collection of internal post from the main office on a daily basis
- Liaising with the sales offices (queries, order days etc)
- New driver inductions
- Distribution of customer collection paperwork
- General Admin, filing
- Auditing HGV’s and producing vehicle safety spot checks
- Entering accurate information into the stillage management system and also auditing the system
- Providing cover for the accurate preparation of carriers /expenses / pallet collections
- Monitoring and maintaining levels of paper, labels, toners etc.
- Downloading driver’s digital tachograph cards and HGV vehicles
- Producing correct Excel documentation
- Keep your working area tidy at all times, reporting any hazards to the Transport Manager
- Undertake any relevant training (route planning) that is required to develop your role in the future
- You will be required to carry out any reasonable request from your line manager
