Position Summary
Main job functions
Inspect and release incoming goods, specifically couplings and ancillary items, in accordance with company drawings and specifications, ensuring customer’s requirements are met. Process parts according to production plans and customer delivery priorities.
Principle Accountabilities
Duties, Responsibilities and Key Tasks
Ensure delivered goods match the delivery note prior to unloading any goods.
Unload goods using appropriate handling equipment and place into an appropriate storage area. Book incoming goods into the Company computer system.
Inspect incoming couplings in accordance with applicable company operating procedures and work instructions.
Inspect Incoming ancillary equipment in accordance with applicable company operating procedures and work instructions, with assistance and support as required, dictated by workload.
Ensure goods are in conformance with the relevant company drawing, specification, purchase order and any other referenced documents.
Ensure that all required documentation has been supplied for each item delivered, that documentation is accurate and in conformance with the purchase order.
Ensure all relevant testing and post-production activities required by the Purchase Order have been performed on the goods received.
Ensure that where supplier documentation indicates goods are supplied under concession that a copy of this concession is available. Liaise with relevant personnel as appropriate.
Raise any non-conformance found with the Purchasing Manager, Technical Authority and/or Quality Manager. Inform the supplier where appropriate. Raise the required documentation for non-conformance on the Company computer system (SAP).
Liaise with the Technical Department to ensure functional tests on incoming goods are performed where required.
Handle and file documentation (hard copy or electronic) received from the supplier in an orderly manner within the company filing system.
Control and store radiographs received from the supplier in an orderly manner.
Perform required transactions on the company computer system as appropriate following inspection activities.
Ensure clear visual indication is made of the status of all goods within the inspection area.
Handle goods around the inspection area in a safe and controlled manner.
Plan workload through area on a daily basis according to production/shipping requirements and information received from Operations Support to ensure availability of good with appropriate identification.
Liaise with the Manufacturing Team Leaders and Planners in the event of a conflict to confirm production schedule requirements and inform them if there are any issues that may affect this schedule.
Be able to assess damage to fittings and recommend action required including minor repairs
Assist customer representatives during any in-line inspection visits.
Ensure that the equipment used in the area is suitably maintained and in calibration.
Ensure that the Inspection areas are maintained with a good level of cleanliness and housekeeping, and that work is always performed in a safe manner.
Carry out the job requirements in full compliance with the Code of Conduct.

Experience Required
Minimum 2 years experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to working with QA systems and documentation.
Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
Working successfully with cross functional teams at all levels of an organisation.
Ideally time-served, with experience of using a variety of measuring equipments in an inspection/goods inwards environment.
Knowledge Required
Good knowledge of SAP Operating System
Good knowledge of the Company products.
Good knowledge of engineering principles.
Good understanding of non-destructive testing/inspection methods.
Qualifications / Skills Required
IT literate with knowledge of MS Word and Excel
Good education
Forklift truck licence.
Able to competently interpret engineering drawing and specifications.
Confident when dealing with external parties.
Organised and methodical.
Able to work under own initiative.
