Job description
Due to expansion we are currently seeking a Regional Business Manager for our newly acquired Southampton depot.

Purpose of the position
- Overall responsibility for the effective running of the regional engineering team, ensuring every engineer achieves their personal performance targets and the overall objectives for the region are met.
- Ensuring health, safety and environmental processes are adhered to in our MFS sites, on customer premises and when engineers are working remotely.
- Drive a positive culture across the region through regular engagement and communication with engineers and customers.
Accountability
- Financial results and KPI delivery for the region
- Customer satisfaction and resolution of any complaints
- Ensuring that engineers are trained and coached to deliver the best possible results for our customers
- Strong leadership is given to all members of the regional team
Capability
- To ensure the timely investigation and resolution of operational and Health and Safety issues
- To contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices within the department
- To motivate and develop staff through controlled delegation in order to achieve team goals with a view to career progression and succession planning
- Line management responsibilities for the structure within the regional business area
- To build rapport, develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers
- To communicate effectively across all functions and in particular the Human Resources, Finance and Central Parts functions,
Tasks:
- To deal with any disciplinary/grievance matters in line with Company procedures
- Implement an affective structure within the defined region, ensuring correct headcount vs productivity and continually measuring
- Carry out recruitment of team members where required
- To manage through others by setting targets, objectively measuring performance, providing regular feedback and coaching as required through company process
- To undertake regional resource planning and ensure engineer availability inline with demand including planning of overtime and call out rotas.
- Carry out proactive performance review meetings with key customers
- Conduct accident/incident investigations in a timely manner when required.
- Complete regular audits of MFS and customer sites to ensure all standards are maintained.
- Hold regular team meetings to encourage sharing of best practise
- Meet with engineers regularly to drive engagement in the region
- To undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function

Education:
- IOSH (desirable)
- A degree in Business Management or equivalent qualification (desirable)
Experience:
- Experience leading field based engineering teams (essential)
- Proven in depth experience of operational procedures and standards.
- Experience of Process Review & Implementation.
- Experience of people management and leadership within a professional business environment
- Working knowledge of Disciplinary and Grievance procedures
- Experience of the management of Health and Safety (IOSH qualification preferred)
- Experience of managing Key Performance Indicators and finances
- Experience of planning and managing resources
- Experience of establishing and building positive and effective customer relationships.
Additional local needs
- Holds a full UK driving license (essential)
- Depot based with the requirement to work at various locations if business needs dictate
