Employment Associate/Senior Associate - Leeds


A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at a leading international firm seeking an Employment Associate or Senior Associate to join a successful team at the forefront of health employment work. Working closely with a senior member of the team, this role presents a great opportunity for personal and professional development, with plenty of client responsibility and exposure from the outset.

The Opportunity:


The successful candidate will join the successful health employment team, based in Leeds. You can expect to be involved in the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues from difficult investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, Employment Tribunal claims to day to advising on day-to-day employment issues such as performance management, redundancies and sickness absence.


Working closely with the Partner, you will be given all the support you need for personal and professional development, whilst enjoying plenty of client exposure and responsibility from the outset.


Key responsibilities of the role include:


* Advising a broad range of healthcare clients spanning the NHS, primary care and private health sectors.
* Dealing with a wide range of employment matters to include drafting various employment documents, advising on maternity and paternity rights, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee relations issues, disciplinary matters and grievances, mediation, dismissals, redundancy and restructuring, TUPE and employment tribunal claims.
* Providing transactional support where necessary.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and colleagues.
* Actively contributing to business development.


Candidate requirements:


- Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years' PQE
- Demonstrable experience in an established employment practice
- Ideally experience of employment matters within the healthcare sector
- Experience managing a caseload and providing sound, pragmatic advice
- The ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills


On offer is a competitive package with salary from around £56k upwards in line with experience as well as a wide range other benefits.


The firm operate a hybrid working policy, usually with 2 days in the office per week, however they are open to discussing further flexibility where necessary.
