Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Supporting and maintaining the Hospice’s IT infrastructure.
- Diagnosing and solving common IT-related problems.
- Actively/proactively managing the support tickets and escalating more complex cases.
- Working in accordance with the Hospice’s IT policies and procedures to safeguard all users.
- Installing new and existing software on existing PCs.
- Providing support on all computer systems, installation, setup, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.
- Provide assessment of equipment in the hospice.
- Maintain hardware and update elements where required.
- Advising second and third line support of incidents/resolutions or ongoing issues that need resolution.
- Performing complete computer installations and/or setup.
- Administering e-mail and user groups and accounts within the hospice.
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of the specialist IT equipment.
- Assisting in identifying and removing out of date IT equipment.
- Monitoring and achieving the efficient organisation of the work and storage areas and ensuring cleanliness, safety, and security.
- Maintaining confidentiality of information acquired while undertaking duties.
- Undertaking duties as the Head of IT or delegated representative may reasonably request.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:
- Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
- Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure components.
- Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
- Maintain regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
- Support the information systems needs for your business.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.
