Job Opportunity: Night Shift Workshop Supervisor/Mechanic
Location: Stonehouse
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 pm to 06:00 am
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £42,000 - £48,000
Job Purpose:
As the Night Shift Workshop Supervisor/Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the efficient completion of the allocated workload within our Transport Workshop. You'll be tasked with planning, organising, and allocating jobs, as well as supervising employees. Your role will also involve liaising with other departments, attending relevant meetings, and ensuring that work is completed to high standards, on time, and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all vehicle and equipment maintenance adheres to standards required by third parties such as DVSA and LOLER, optimising labour utilisation.
- Effectively convey handover information to the Workshop leadership team and relevant stakeholders.
- Take ownership of quality control, ensuring all work by the overnight team meets high standards.
- Lead, motivate, and engage the overnight team to maximise their skill sets.
- Ensure all work aligns with company policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assess and develop the overnight team in line with the departmental training and capability matrix.
- Conduct thorough 6-weekly inspections, focusing on 'first-time fix' for identified defects.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections, ensuring they exceed required standards.
- Diagnose faults on vehicles and ancillary equipment, performing electrical repairs as necessary.
- Repair 'damage' defects to uphold our brand image.

Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial vehicle environment (Essential).
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/management position (Essential).
- IOSH- Managing Safely certificate (Desirable).
