Have you just finished college or university and looking for your first job in an accounts role?
My client based in Wakefield is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join their team. As an Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for processing supplier invoices and supporting a credit controller with chasing overdue payments from trade and commercial customer accounts.
Full training will be given and on a daily basis you will be responsible for;
- Process weekly supplier invoices, matching to purchase orders
- Check price, product and quantity matches with purchase order
- Input purchase ledger invoices onto the sage line 50 accounting system and chase relevant paperwork
- Chase overdue payments from trade and commercial customer accounts
- Produce reports from the in house IT systems and ensure the accurate invoices are uploaded onto Sage
- Ensure the Sales Ledger balances agree with the in house IT system on a monthly basis
- Send copy invoices to customers as and when requested
- Make clear and concise notes of credit control activities on all dealer accounts; recording emails, details of queries and progress made
- Ensure all queries are regularly followed up until resolution is achieved and query invoices are paid
- Report on a regular basis any problem accounts and escalate issues where necessary to the directors
- Ensure the accurate and timely allocation of cash received;
- Raise authorised credit notes and input onto sage;
- Liaise with internal departments to seek resolution of customer queries;
- Check sales invoices to ensure PO numbers are quoted prior to submission to customers;
- Attend weekly aged debtor meeting with Finance Manager and Directors;
- Ensure the agreed aged debtor KPI is achieved;
- Provide holiday cover within credit control
Accounts experience is not required however you will be numerate with good educational qualifications and a willingness to learn and develop your accounting skills and experience.
