Job description

VGC Energy part of VGC Group Limited are delighted to be recruiting for a Project Engineer for a site in East Suffolk.

This is initially a temporary position which could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Full time hours with a salary up to £40K per annum.

Job Description:

Your role will consist of, but will not be restricted to:
• To lead and motivate a team and sub-contractor personnel on Site.
• You will be an effective team leader focused on customer care with a “can do”
attitude, with the flexibility and adaptability to lead the team in a changing
business environment.
• Ensure that all third-party contractors who carry out work on the site
associated with Project work do so in a safe and professional manner and
abide by the relevant Company procedures and site specific procedures where
applicable.
• Work with appropriate line management to ensure that tasks are planned and
delivered to specification and agreed service requirements.
• Plan and prioritise work.
• Organise and plan relevant follow on works in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to
date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulations.
• Provide out of hours cover where required.
• Complete relevant paperwork.
• Compliant with all safety related policies and procedures.
• Flexibility with working hours.
• Establish good working relationships within the team, provide guidance to
others (e.g. sub-contractors and other staff).
• Willingly contribute to the overall team and company objectives, responding
quickly to new directives.

Candidate Specification:

• A level of competence commensurate with understanding the technical
challenges faced by a variety of works.
• Experience with a record of delivery in a supervisory role within a team and
sub-contractors.
• Effective and decisive organisational skills with experience in introducing new
ideas and approaches within the team.
• Ability to lead a team and communicate across all levels working within
performance management systems.
• Experience of developing operational teams, focused on service delivery.
• Sound understanding of H&S, Environment and QA procedures.
• Experience of surveying and pricing works.
• Understanding of finances and working to budget constraints.
• IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications and other information
management systems.
• Minimum of HNC, or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Previous Project Engineering experience would be desirable.
