Job description

We are seeking a passionate, motivated, hard working, well organised and experienced residential children's care worker to join our team as a Deputy Manager to support our Residential Manager in our children's home. We work with children and young people who may have experienced childhood trauma.

Essential: Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
Essential: Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Residential Childcare
Essential: Experience within children care sector
Essential: Knowledge of Children's Home Regulations
Strong Written & IT skills
Good organisational skills
Leadership skills
Able to work well within a team
Able to confidently lead a team
The residential care team are the heart of the home and are responsible for providing support and care to the children & young people whilst they are in our home.

The role includes assisting the Home Manager with daily tasks such as; reporting & recording, monitoring, ensuring that staff follow individual care plans and ensuring the safeguarding of our children and young people. You will be required to help lead and develop the team and to set an example to others.

The role may also include supporting with education, taking part in activities, daily household tasks, attending meetings with staff and professionals, assisting with trauining and devolping of the staff team and reporting to the leadership management team.

The role may include on and off shift work dependant upon the needs of the home and will be contracted to a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.

There will be an opportunity to work both "on shift" and "sleeping nights".

Responsibilities

Provide support to the manager and staff team
Provide support & care to our children & young people
Provide support & guidance to the staff team
Ensure safeguarding is always maintained
Work within the company policies and procedures
Work within legislation
Complete mandatory training & support other staff in training & development
Successful applicants will only be given a formal offer after receipt of a satisfactory DBS and references are received.

Salary: £29,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
