The Opportunity…

Joining as a key member of the HPC Site Construction management team, reporting directly to the Head of Construction Health and Safety, you'll play a vital role in setting and upholding the highest standards of health, wellbeing, and safety excellence. From the construction site to the boardroom, you'll provide essential support and direction, ensuring safety measures resonate at every level, from operatives to senior management.

You’ll be at the forefront of liaising with EDF Energy teams and influencing T1 contractors responsible for project delivery. Your task extends to guiding all contractors to enhance risk management strategies as the project progresses. This involves delivering clear, timely messages and coaching senior managers within each organisation, ensuring a unified approach to risk mitigation throughout the project's various stages.

What you’ll be doing…

In this role, you will deputise for the Head of Construction Health & Safety, overseeing department activities and resources to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and emergency standards. Additionally, you'll support the management of emergent site health and safety issues, ensuring all department activities align with NSL arrangements, statutory regulations, and company protocols. Who you are…

In this role, we’re looking for you to hold a Degree, or equivalent, in Health & Safety, Engineering or Construction and be liked with a Chartered Membership. With this, you’ll hold significant HSE experience including running a HSE group within a large project and construction engineering environment. We’re also looking for you to hold a NEBOSH HSE Diploma or equivalent to be suitable for this role. Other requirements also include:
