The role and what we are looking for

We are seeking to appoint a caring, dynamic, focussed and driven individual to the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Children Looked After (CLA) Lead. The successful candidate will champion the needs of our looked-after children and previously looked-after children to ensure they are given opportunities and the support they need to become local, national and global leaders who the community look upon with pride.

The post would suit somebody with previous experience of working with Looked After Children and Vulnerable Children, with a desire to be a strong advocate for them. Excellent administration and communication skills, plus good levels of literacy are essential. This will be a challenging but incredibly rewarding role.

As a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will share responsibility for safeguarding across the Academy with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and wider safeguarding team.

Our Academy

We are a secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester that opened in 2018 and are dedicated to supporting our young people to reach their potential. We leave no child behind; our progress data is incredibly strong and it is attributed to the hard work of our staff and students. We work together, sharing this educational journey with a common goal - develop happy and successful leaders who are culturally enriched role models in our community. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust, we benefit from support and sharing of best practice from our regional schools, Regional Director and wider Oasis family.

We opened the Academy in temporary accommodation in 2018, with just 230 students across two year groups. In November 2020 we moved into our new, permanent home, which is a state of the art building that sits on the old Breeze Hill School site located on Roxbury Avenue, just off Lees Road in Oldham. We will be at full capacity, with 1500 students, by 2025-2026. We are a school of choice within Oldham and rated 'Good' by Ofsted.

What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Like what you see? Make sure you fill out an application today and submit to us before the deadline of 9am on Friday 15th March 2024.
