Our client is a world leader in designing and manufacturing safety equipment for the worlds Railway networks. Due to continued growth the adding to their team. They are currently looking for an Assembly Operator to join their team in Barton under Needwood.
Main Duties
- Follow work based instructions to confirm quality standards are met
- Use of various hand tools, crimpers and torque drivers
- Inspect incoming repairs and prepare reports
- Crimping, wiring, soldering and heat shrinking activities
- Use of technical equipment, eg: multi-meter, crimp tester and other testing machines
- Carry out adjustments as necessary to achieve fully functional relays for inspection
- Conduct other manufacturing activities as and when required
- Checking products against drawings
- Dealing with supplier queries
- Participate in any training that the Company deems necessary
- Participate in work based teams
- Take the lead in the coaching and training of other colleagues, in particular assemblers and new starters
- Participate in Quality Circle Meetings, including the raising and implementation of agreed improvement ideas
Practical Experience and Skills Required
- Significant experience of both electrical and mechanical assembly
- Comprehensive knowledge of building and repairing electro[1]mechanical sub-assemblies
- Proven work experience in an engineering environment
- Technical background of electrical / mechanical assembly operations
- A good understanding of BS7671 Wiring Regulations
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Professional, pro-active and flexible attitude
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Logical and methodical approach
- Accurate when taking and recording measurements
- Good IT Skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communicator
- Reliable and good time keeper
- In-house / Training course certificate
