Job description

David Ross Education Trust is now recruiting for a Finance and Payroll Apprentice.
This is an exciting role where you will be an important part of the finance team from day one. We believe in helping our apprentices to achieve their full potential; we will support your studies but also ensure that you have the right practical experience to back this up. During your apprenticeship you will get a good grounding in all aspects of finance from purchase ledger and payroll through to financial accounting and business partnering. You will be working as part of a team in a varied and friendly environment. This role would suit someone starting their career or looking for a career change, with focus on the wide experience opportunities.
About the role
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain exposure to new environments and develop skills that will kickstart your career in business finance:- Creating and interpreting information- Effectively communicating information to stakeholders- Proactively managing personal development- Working under tight deadlines and adapting to changing priorities- Coordinating with others to meet deadlines and changing priorities- Produce quality and accurate information- Apply accounting knowledge- Consistently deliver high-quality and accurate data and information.
Your education/training From the start, you'll be working towards an AAT (Association?of Accounting Technicians) qualification, which will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge for your role. As you work through your apprenticeship you will have the ability to gain varying levels of AAT qualifications (depending on your starting point). By the end of your apprenticeship, you may hold Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 AAT qualifications.
This is a full-time, 3 year Fixed-term contract role, working 37 hours per week, 52 weeks a year.

Who we are looking for

GCSE’s including English and Maths grade 4 minimum
Good level of proficiency with IT
Numerate, good attention to detail, good telephone manner, good level of written and spoken English, ability to work well alone or as part of a team
Enthusiasm for new challenges
No previous experience in Finance necessary
