North Hill House School is recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Therapy team now! We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and passionate people to become an integral part of our therapy team. The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team, which may suit someone experienced in a special needs environment or newly qualified, who will be required to work closely with other Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals providing support to students; reporting to the Therapy Manager.

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties.

The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society. Students have ambitions to live and work as self-reliant adults and we can help them to reach their goals with continued support, structure and guidance. The school welcomes students on a day basis for 39 weeks per year.

The successful applicant will:

• Have tangible experience supporting and facilitating 1:1 and group therapy to young people between the ages of 5 – 19 yrs.
• Have a sound knowledge of evidence based support within the field of ASC is required.
• Have suitable experience supporting language and developmental delays, skilled in facilitating standardised assessment[s], scoring, analysis and creating bespoke programmes. 
• Be proactive in disseminating best ways of working to the wider support team and will be confident to deliver onsite profession specific training to colleagues as and when required.
• Work in close partnership with a diverse team of Therapy, educational and care specialists, including our Occupational Therapists, Counsellor, Educational Psychologists and Dyslexia specialist to deliver tailored support that meets the needs of each young person. 
• Join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated support staff, committed to delivering the very best care.
• Be actively encouraged and supported to remain up to date with CPD and both internal and external training opportunities are available to you.
