Blackpool is looking to recruit a full time family worker to work within the Awaken Team.
Awaken is a multi-agency Child Exploitation and Missing from Home service led by Children's Social Care, Police and Health who's primary function is to support children and young people who are at risk / victims of Child Criminal and / or Child Sexual Exploitation, and bring offenders to justice.
As a family worker on Awaken your work will be focused on building trusted meaningful relationships using a trauma informed approach in order to build on their resilience and strengths to bring around positive change. This will include completing 1:1 direct work sessions with children and young people around exploitation whilst attending relevant meetings such as CIN meetings, core groups, and children in our care review in order to share information in respect of Awakens intervention. You will also be responsible for being a single point of access to our education providers and support them with any concerns around there students where there are exploitation concerns.
You will also be responsible for the completion of missing from home return interviews as Awaken also leads Blackpool's missing from home service due to close link between missing from home and exploitation.
The team are looking to recruit a motivated individual with a diverse range of skills who are able to demonstrate a flexible approach and clear understanding of child exploitation and has a passion for working with Adolescents. Awaken is a busy team and we are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and energetic Family Worker.
