Job description
With a proven track record of success, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our Procurement leadership team
You will play a critical role in shaping and executing our procurement category strategy to ensure delivery of cost-effective goods and services that deliver savings and value to our stakeholders the wider organisation and our patients . This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to drive results in a complex and challenging environment.
A member of the leadership team of the Procurement department, contributing to the overall strategy. Providing support to the Head of Procurement and substituting for this role as required
• Influence the direction of procurement on a category and Trust wide basis, by representing the Procurement Team on Regional and National procurement consultative working groups i.e. to foster increased collaboration and leverage purchasing power.
• Ability to identify new procurement opportunities which will leverage quality and value for the Trust.
• Provide guidance and manage time pressures leading complex tenders through a inclusive approach which accommodates the requirements of customers within agreed timelines
• Leading the category team to plan, prioritise and deliver the procurement workplan realising quality and financial benefits to the organisation

• To design, communicate and embed strategic sourcing and category management principles across the procurement team
• Lead complex procurement processes and ensure that arrangements are commercially sound and represent the best interests of the Trust.
• Delivery of agreed savings identified on the Procurement Workplan.
• Lead and embed effective Contract Management principals across the Procurement Team developing and maintaining Service level agreements and key performance indicators.
• Line Management responsibility of staff for the procurement categories that they lead on
• Apply considerable professional judgment when leading on specific procurement activity and when advising senior managers, colleagues, staff and customers on the resolution of complex and strategic procurement issues, in accordance with procurement obligations / regulations including UK Procurement directives
• Lead in identifying areas to improve quality and reduce costs on Trust wide non pay spend
• Provide tender and contract management mentoring, guidance and support to Procurement Category managers
• Provide tender and contract advise including all aspects of UK Procurement law to senior Trust stakeholders
• Understanding of the wider procurement landscape and categories areas to deliver innovative opportunities to the Trust
• Lead multi-disciplinary Trust wide procurement project teams at all levels
