Role: Planner
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Car/Allowance + Package
Location: Birmingham (West Midlands)
Reporting to: Planning Manager

The Planner role
PSR are working with a leading civil engineering contractor who are well-established working with Severn Trent Water and other water clients across the UK. As a result of several project wins, they are looking to introduce a Planner to their pre-construction team. The Planner will work closely with delivery and commercial teams to develop programmes of works that ensure safe and timely delivery of various water non-infrastructure projects across the framework. As a key member of the planning team, the Planner is a crucial role in coordinating and optimising project schedules on P6 for water-related projects, so experience in either as a Planner or with water non-infrastructure projects is essential for this position.
Responsibilities of the Planner
Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and deadlines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing valuable input to optimise construction sequencing and resource allocation.
Utilise advanced scheduling software to analyse and adjust project timelines as needed.
Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Competencies of the right Planner
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in civil engineering planning, with a focus on water non-infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to project planning.
