LERC Walesare currently recruiting for one role, to be hosted by SEWBReC.

Front-End Developer (Aderyn):

Hours: 0.6FTE (21 hours)

Contract: 18-month fixed term contract (with possibility of extension).

Pay: SEWBReC salaries are linked to Local Government pay scales. This post is graded Spinal Column Point (SCP) 25-27. This means your starting salary at SCP25 for 2024/25 will be £33,945 per annum (adjusted pro rata based on 0.6 full-time equivalent), subject to any subsequently agreed local government pay awards. Your salary will increase incrementally on 1st April 2025 to SCP26. Salary will be paid monthly in arrears, by bank transfer.

Location: This post will be a hybrid post, partly based at SEWBReC’s offices at 15 Talbot Road, Talbot Green, Pontyclun, CF72 8AD and partly based at home, with the balance between the two agreed between the successful candidate and SEWBReC management. The need to occasionally travel within Wales, as well as elsewhere in the UK, may also occur.

We areseeking an experienced and motivated developer with a solid foundation in front-end development. This unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work with a modern and bespoke web platform, built from the ground up specifically to meet the needs of LERC Wales, its partners and customers. The successful candidate will lead development of the front-end of the application with support, direction and training provided by LERC Wales Aderyn Lead Developer and colleagues, but will also have some involvement in the server side of the application.

This position will allow the successful candidate room to grow their skillset in accordance with the project’s requirements. Collaboration is key to the successful production of the Aderyn v2 web platform, therefore it will be important to clearly communicate ideas, to have excellent organisational skills and to produce clear, readable and maintainable work.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the LERC Wales managers, teams and IT staff, both remotely and on site, when required.
