As a Driver, you play such an invaluable role supporting the day to day running of our hospitals providing vital services within the community, all with a smile on your face. This is why we don’t compromise when it comes to choosing new colleagues to join us.

A standard DBS check will be required.

We have a brilliant team for you to join who all work together to provide an excellent service.

You will be a fantastic team worker, who has experience of working with colleagues in a busy environment and also has basic computer skills. The world has gone digital so these skills are becoming more and more important.

There isn’t another role like this around in the driving sector – so it goes without saying that full training will be given which will include all aspects of driving duties - we know you will proudly wear the uniform provided and join a team of colleagues from all backgrounds who work together to keep the hospital ticking smoothly.

The Transport Service would love to introduce you to our team if you are a conscientious and dedicated team player who is interested in providing a gold standard for our patients.

Roles within the Trust Transport Service include delivery and collection of ,but not limited to, blood transfusions, microbiology samples, equipment and stock items. Using Chorley Hospital as a base you will be providing services to and from local Hospitals, Surgeries, Health Centres and Clinics. Depending on the specific task you will be required to drive vehicles from a small van to a Luton van where you will be expected to operate a tail lift.

We need people with fabulous customer services skills who are passionate in working to their very best to deliver services right across our hospitals and within the community.

Our service runs 7 days a week between 7am and 7pm. Different start times and finish times apply to fulfil bank duties.

• Provide and receive routine information, to inform work colleagues, patients, clients.
• Provide and receive routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills; barriers to understanding; provide advice, instruction or training to groups.
• Range of routine work procedures requiring on the job training.
• Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, systems and regulations gained through induction and on the job training over a number of weeks or equivalent experience.
• Judgements involving facts or situations, some requiring analysis.
• Investigates problems e.g. stock issues, fault finding, patient transport, use of chemicals.
• Follow policies in own role, may be required to comment.
• Regularly handle valuables; safe use of equipment other than equipment used personally; responsible for maintaining stock control, security of stock; responsible for safe use of expensive or highly complex equipment
• Demonstrate own activities to new or less experienced employees
• Undertake surveys or audits, as necessary to own work.
• Occasional moderate effort for several long periods; frequent moderate effort for several short periods/ Ongoing requirement for light effort; frequent moderate effort for several long periods; Occasional intense effort for several short periods
