Transport Supervisor – Customs
8 month Maternity Contract
£40,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Stanford-le-Hope
9 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday

Our client a well-established fuel supply company in Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex has a maternity cover contract open – this is to work in the Logistics department as part of the Customs team to cover the Maternity Leave of our Logistics Supervisor.

The Role:

Primary focus on Customs with training to be provided to assist Transport in daily tasks. To be able to process Customs entries (Import and Export using CDS).

Ensure compliance with AEO while supporting the logistics team cross-function.

Working in a self-driven, self-sufficient and proactive team, Support the day-to-day office functions to support the transport manager and wider commercial team in ensuring customer delivery requirements are met.

• System administration of the ICI Customs Management software.
• Full understanding of CDS systems
• Preparation of import/export customs compliance packs
• Creation of all import/export customs declarations
• Reconciliation of EMCS entries
• Reconciliation of import and export packs for AEO compliance
• Compiling a monthly reconciliation of Import and Export packs for AEO Compliance
• Creating documentation and booking transport with freight forwarders
• Be able to fully assist the transport team in all aspects of holiday and sickness cover
• Improve efficiency within the department by working to build strong relationships with our third-party hauliers.

The Person:

• Recognised qualification in Import/Export or strong background in customs
• Strong understanding of customs brokerage
• Strong knowledge of AEO standard
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Versatile and ability to multitask
• Knowledge of Supply chain operations or transport would be an advantage but not essential
