Workchain, a leading UK-based recruitment agency, is currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our client's team in Barnsley. This is a permanent position within the industrial industry, offering a competitive salary range of £11.00 to £11.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and accurately picking, packing, and dispatching orders, ensuring they are ready for shipment within given deadlines.
- Safely loading and unloading items from delivery vehicles, checking for any damages or discrepancies, and reporting them promptly.
- Organizing and arranging inventory in designated locations to optimize space utilization.
- Conducting regular stock counts and reconciling any discrepancies, maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and achieve productivity targets.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and employing safe working practices at all times.
- Contributing to a clean and orderly working environment by maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the warehouse.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar role, preferably within the industrial sector.
- A strong work ethic with a proactive and positive attitude towards tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with team members and supervisors.
- Basic computer literacy to navigate inventory management systems and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as a part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility.
