Who are we?

At Coffee Break Languages, we create language learning resources for a worldwide audience through podcasts, online courses, books, and video content. Delivering over 2 million language lessons every month, we aim to engage, educate and entertain the learners in our community. Our team is based in south-west Scotland and we work with a team of teachers, content creators and language experts to produce our resources.

We are looking for experienced language teachers of German to join our team.

Our language teachers are a core part of our team and ensure that we create high quality, pedagogically sound, and accessible language learning resources for our worldwide community of learners. Working on a range of tasks and projects, you will have the opportunity to use your language skills, teaching abilities, and creativity on a daily basis.

What will I be working on?

A day in the life of a Language Teacher at Coffee Break could involve any combination of the following tasks:

Content creation

Creating original, engaging language learning materials in keeping with the 'Coffee Break' style. This may involve providing grammar and vocabulary explanations, developing language exercises and activities, and writing texts or stories in the language you speak.

Curriculum design

Working with the rest of the team you could play a key role in designing courses and resources for adult learners around the world.

Learner engagement & customer support

β€’ Engaging with and providing feedback to our community of learners through our social media channels and/or in our courses involving tutor engagement.
β€’ Assisting the team with responses to customer queries about the language(s) you speak.

Proofing

Checking the accuracy and natural flow of the foreign language in our resources, such as proofreading language texts or video lessons.

Audio/video content

Recording audio segments for our podcasts and/or filming video content for social media and CBTV, our on-demand video platform.

Other

Other tasks depending on your skills and experience. Such tasks could relate to audiovisual production, sales & marketing, or operational duties.

Where and when will I be working?

The positions available could be part-time or full-time. As we are a four-day week company, full-time positions would be from Monday to Thursday, while part-time would be a combination of full days/half days between Monday and Thursday.

We are hybrid working company so you will split your time equally each week, between our office in Ayr, and remote working.

The days on which you work will be confirmed later in the recruitment process, if your application is successful. Please be aware that you must be able to commute to our office in Ayr for 50% of your working week.
