Job description
Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting a new role of Management Accountant to join a fast growing industrial business in the Halifax area. Due to expansion of the business and recent acquisition plans they are looking to take on a management accountant to control the smaller international business accounts.
If you are currently studying or wanting to study in the near future and have experience in month end accounts this could be the role for you.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, key duties of the Assistant Accountant will include:
- Full responsibility for the transactional ledgers of Seal it Services Inc (Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Cashbook) in interim of recruiting and training of the Accounts Administrator who reports to this tole
- Seal It Inc Management Accounts preparation and analysis
- Challenging the business in the areas of under-performance and processes improvements for Seal It Inc
- Challenging the business in the areas of under-performance and processes improvements Seal it Services
- Liaison with external parties, which includes suppliers, customers, insurance brokers, consultants etc. that falls within the remit of the Finance responsibilities for Seal It Inc
- Liaison with external parties, which includes suppliers, customers, consultants etc. that falls within the remit of the Finance responsibilities for Seal It Services
- Assisting with Fleet management for Seal It Services
- Managing one staff member (Accounts Administrator), including regular 121's, their career planning and performance reviews
- Supporting Management Accounts preparation for Seal It Services, including analysis and commentary where appropriate
- Financial reporting including audit work and auditor liaison for both entities
- Elements of Group reporting to the Ultimate Parent
- Tax work for Seal It Services Ltd mainly in the area of corporation tax input preparation, assistance with Vat reporting.
- Tax work for Seal It Inc mainly in the area of UNICAP submissions and external liaison.
To be considered for this role we are looking for candidates with the following:
Previous experience of working within a finance function
Studying towards professional accountancy qualifications

In return, the successful candidate will receive the following:
£35,000 - £37,000 base salary
