We are looking for a Vehicle Build & Test Lead to oversee the prototype build and property deployment by working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure prototype builds and the Test & Validation programme is delivered.

Who and what will you be working with?
You will be based within the Vehicle Integration team at P3 UK sites (Wellesbourne Office and MIRA Proving Ground) and may be required to visit European automotive test centres for vehicle development activities.
We use a variety of tools across the business, but you’ll mostly be working with Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), Smartsheet, Jama requirements management, TCe, Test equipment software as required, and MS Office Software Tools.
What will you be responsible for?
- Overseeing vehicle property build activities, recording and resolving build issues.
- Running vehicle fleet plan during development phases.
- Managing vehicle logs, including all hardware and software updates.
- Specifying and ordering parts and equipment as required for vehicle build and development work.
- Arranging logistics for vehicle properties and spares.
- Preparing for test and development activities, ensuring vehicles are checked and set-up as required.
- Support development activities, including lab and track-based tests.
- Additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Lead planning and delivery of prototype properties.
- Assigning vehicle engineering properties to development activities, including rigs, bucks, mules, prototypes, and reference vehicles.
- Updating and maintaining vehicle fleet plan.
- Ensuring all requirements in place for vehicle operations (including vehicle tax, insurance, maintenance and repair plans).
- Support planning of development phases (DVP) and alignment to fleet plan.
- Reporting and presenting vehicle property status.
Who are we looking for?
To help achieve our goals, we need someone with/ who is:
- Engineering degree or equivalent vehicle development experience
(5+ years).
- Proven experience in the delivery of prototype build and test & validation activities including use of testing facilities.
- Broad vehicle systems knowledge and experience of coordinating and working with prototype vehicles.
- Experience with High Voltage systems preferable
- Vehicle test preparation experience, inclusive of vehicle fitting experience, basic technician skills using workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, data collection and analysis desirable.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual, demonstrating a hands-on approach and able to work well under own initiative.
- Excellent teamworking skills to ensure effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Experience in a “Start-up” business is desirable.
- Full valid and clean driving licence, (advanced driving qualifications (e.g., ROSPA) desirable)
- Minimum age 25yrs (due to insurance requirements)
This person needs to:
- Be flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual, demonstrating a hands-on approach and able to work well under own initiative.
- Be willing to travel as required in the UK and overseas.
- Have valid Right to Work in the UK and the documentation to evidence this.
