Help us to build our school!
Surrey Maths School (SuMS) is a specialist 16-19 Maths School opening in Guildford in September 2024 to serve students across the South East, aiming to become a hub of excellence for the teaching of the mathematical sciences.
We are seeking a Lead Teacher of Year 12 to oversee our very first cohort in September 2024. The post holder will develop the induction programme for students and will oversee the PSHEE curriculum, designing the scheme of work and supporting the tutor team in delivery.
The Lead Teacher of Year 12 will also work with the DSL as part of the school safeguarding team, ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of our students. Full support and training will be given to the post-holder and this role would suit someone looking to transition into pastoral leadership.
Diversity, inclusivity and kindness are at the heart of SuMS and the appointed post holder will have a real opportunity to shape the culture of the school for years to come, as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
The post-holder will be required to reach one of the school’s core subjects of Mathematics and Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Economics.
At Surrey Maths School you will be part of a small, enthusiastic team working with students who are drived and excited by mathematical sciences. Take a look at our SuMS information pack for prospective staff for more information about the broader school and what you can expect from working with us.
