Job description
Looking for a carer who can cover for me while I go home to South Africa from approximately the 29th August to the 15th September and over the Christmas period.
The client needs advanced care, she is bed ridden and immobile after a stroke earlier this year. She is both urinary and feacally incontinent and wears pads and she is no longer able to speak properly. However, she still has a good sense of humour and on good days makes a concerted effort to have a conversation.
The carer must have the following experience :
Manual handling with a sling and floor hoist
Bed bathing
Changing of pads in situ
Dietary consideration for someone who has had a stroke (i.e slightly softer food etc, but not moosh)
Personal care
Dispensing of Controlled drugs (Butec patch) and codeine when necessary.
The carer must have the following attributes :
Very patient (as the client tries to talk, however, cannot be understood most of the time)
A soft and caring disposition (client very sensitive to loud noises)
Well spoken with a good sense of humour
Must love animals, as there is a family dog and cat that comes to stay.
Statutory Requirements
Carer must have latest DBS
Registered with the on-line service

British driver license/Driver
The house is modern, a new barn conversion with own room and shower room, on a huge property in Somerset. Access to TV in the sitting room and WIFI, there is a car for use by the carer if they don’t have their own car.
The daily rate is £109
