Job description
The compliance role has a clear focus on safety, quality assurance, technical competence and compliance aligned to company policies, procedures, and relevant industry legislation. This vacancy will be based on the M5 corridor above Bristol, Bristol, Cheltenham, Swindon area You will be responsible for: Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence and having these specific risk responsibilities: Overall Team function is ensuring business adherence in compliance categorised areas, these areas include: LOLER, Fire, DSEAR, PUWER, PSSR, L8-Legionella. Each discipline is allocated to one colleague as a main area of focus, (This allocation is based on individual background & experience). The colleague will then also be expected to understand and be functional in another area for business continuity A targeted number of regional site attended safety, technical and quality assurance assessments, as per allocated compliance discipline and region. Site based internal and external audit/verification to support investigations regarding equipment incidents/failures/escalations. Coordination and overview of contractor quality audits, liaising with relevant contract manager. Site visits as directed by line manger to support business requirements. Provide appropriate reports within specified timelines to WL2 Compliance managers. Produce technical updates and support information to stakeholders across specified areas. Providing ongoing support to operational activities, encompassing company/legislative change, site based. Support regular updates on changes to company safe systems of work with regards to compliance. Support PPM/SOP creation and amendment/alteration as required. You will need: Management and delivery of legal compliance regulations within an engineering environment e.g., DSEAR, LOLER, PUWER, L8, PSSR Engineering experience essential Engineering qualification essential Administrative skills to include IT & Microsoft Office suite Working with external regulatory bodies Customer/stakeholder escalation management Resource scheduling IOSH qualification (desirable) Continuous Improvement awareness & implementation Communication & stakeholder management Data analysis Problem Solving System and IT proficiency Governance and compliance Organisational and planning skills What's in it for you: We’re all about the little helps.
