Job description
Quality Engineer required for an automotive small/medium component manufacturer based in Daventry. The successful candidate will ideally have an automotive background within quality engineering/ assurance and be local to their site in Daventry.
Quality Engineer Position Overview
- Support the management of all quality-related issues within the manufacturing & Goods Receiving teams (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty)
- Be instrumental in the identification of defect root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues. Routine use of Global 8D process.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards.
- Carry out/ assist personnel with product and process audits.
- Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented and maintained.
- Stop production in the event of unacceptable goods/processes, identify the resolution actions needed in order to re-start production.
- Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to/ auditing of the Business Management system including (TS16949/ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 or ISO45001) where required.
Quality Engineer Position Requirements
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTec Diploma Level 3 or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification
- Membership of an industry related Professional Body would be advantageous
- Experience of working in or with Quality Assurance
- Six Sigma skills are highly desirable
Quality Engineer Position Remuneration
- Salary- Circa £30,000
- Working hours - Monday - Friday 8-4
- 25 days holiday + bank hols
