There is much to do, but the successful applicant will be supported by the Deputy Headteacher (DHT) Quality of Education.

Key aspects for the role in the first 12 months include:

Churchill Community College believes in investing in our staff. This post may appeal to a current leader of design or technology who is seeking a wider role within a school to have greater impact or an experienced leader who is seeking to consolidate their experience through a new challenge. The applicant may also have aspirations of senior leadership in the near future.

The Faculty Leader should be an exemplar of both leadership and teaching skills and lead the improvement of curriculum design and implementation across the faculty through effective support, monitoring and evaluation of colleagues.

The Faculty Leader will work to develop both the strategic vision for Design and Technology across the school alongside a clear plan on how this can be successfully implemented and monitored. The faculty currently delivers and encompasses the following disciplines:

  1. 3D Design
  2. Textiles
  3. Food and Nutrition
  4. Health and Social Care

The successful candidate will be:
