An opportunity has arisen to work across our Acute ward.
Job Role
- A specialist service to people with a mental disorder/personality disorder through developing specialist psychological formulations and assessments, formulating plans for their psychological treatments
- Implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups as per NICE & best practice guidelines.
- To provide specialist advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals.
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
- To provide supervision as required
The successful candidate will be experienced in working with people with complex mental health needs, where psychosis and severe interpersonal difficulties are part of their presentation and be familiar with working through a trauma informed lens to understand what has happened to in the life of the individual and to use evidence based interventions to alleviate distress.
Working alongside colleagues, the candidate will offer specialist psychological assessments, formulations and brief interventions.
Suitable candidates will have completed training in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
There are excellent CPD and training opportunities for employees within this service, and funded and accredited training opportunities will be available and agreed as part of the role (subject the completion of a probationary period). Attendance at national conferences and research interests are also encouraged.
We welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists or those who are due to qualify in the Summer of 2023 and are able to join as a trainee prior to this. We will also consider applications from those who may require more flexible working.

Centrally located with easy access to Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, Ashford and Maidstone, The Priory Hospital, Ticehurst House has 43 beds across 2 service lines: Acute Adult and Acute Private.
