Job description
We are seeking a Special Process Engineer for a 12 month contract role in Chesterfield.
Activity
Special Process Engineering support, focused on the preparation and review of procedures, identify, and implement the delivery of process improvements, lead and co-ordinate complex shop floor issues, that will help determine the most effective and lean method of manufacture.
Candidates must be experienced with PCB.
Skills/ Qualifications Required
The support will include:
- Responsible for designated overall process health.
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
- Drive accountability through daily/weekly operating rhythms to ensure ME driven tasks are completed in line with production requirements.
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide data-driven reasoning and technical evidence for process changes.
- Analyse and report on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management
- Key stakeholder during new equipment selection in line with process and industry best practice.
- Ensure that the organisation’s manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and regulations.
- Coordinating maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational.
- Perform risk and mitigation assessments.
- Identify/evaluate improvement opportunities.
- Proactively manages workload.
- Communicates to internal/external customers and functional leadership.
- Produce a weekly report on progress.
NB. This role is inside IR35 and as such will require the use of an Umbrella Company.
