Job description
This is a fabulous opportunity to launch your career in childcare as an Apprentice Early Years Educator in a purpose built nursery close to Chertsey, Surrey. This nursery is situated a short walk from the train station, is served by local bus route and also has free onsite parking.
Under guidance and with full training you will assist the nursery in providing the best standards of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children in the setting. Working as part of a friendly team, you will contribute to creating an enabling environment in which all the children can play, develop and learn.
The Apprentice salary is age dependent, but you will also receive up to 35 days holiday, financial support towards completing qualifications, discounted rates on childcare, pension, free lunch and snacks, free uniform, subsidised gym membership, as well as paid for team events and parties.
Responsibilities: - The focus of the Apprentice will be to help develop and maintain the quality of education within their room
- To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents and carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs
- To work alongside the Educators to develop their own knowledge to assist in the effectively delivery of the EYFS framework
- To evaluate their practise and develop where necessary using reflection and feedback from other team members
- To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained
- Contribute towards an effective and supportive team environment
- Take pride in your work and have a desire to progress and develop your skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - There are no specific qualifications required although GCSE English and Maths or Level 2 Functional Skills would be advantageous
- Energy, enthusiasm and the desire to make a difference to children's lives
- A passion for Early Years education and childcare
- A can-do attitude, happy to get involved in lots of different areas
- Ability to commit to training for 12–18 months
- 36 to 40 hours per week
