Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Servicing of machinery and equipment, including record keeping, on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Fault find, diagnose and repair portable equipment, ladders, hoses and cranes
- Assist with diagnosing and repairing, electrical and mechanical faults on plant equipment
- Installation of mechanical and electrical services while under supervision
- Implementation and adherence to all health and safety policies, generate risk assessments and complete all paperwork relating to health and safety
The training you will be getting
You will study on a Level 3 Engineering Technician standard on a Mechatronics Maintenance pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Advanced Level 3
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis.
After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study
