Job description

About us…

smol is on a mission to change the face of consumer brands and businesses by bringing super effective, eco-friendly products at value-for-money prices. We believe everyone should be able to make easy swaps that are better for them, the planet, and their pockets.

In nearly 6 years smol has taken UK household cleaning by storm. We are already the fastest growing and most positively reviewed brand in the laundry, dishwash, fabric conditioner and surface spray categories, and we've got so much more planned. Having received Series B investment in 2021 and B Corp certification at the end of 2023, our team is focused on combining fast growth with being a force for positive change and impact in all that we do.

The next step in our growth is our plan to expand across geographies - next stop France! Launching smol into France is a critical part of our future plan and we’re looking for energetic and entrepreneurial people who want to join us at the beginning of this journey.

If you love start ups, a really fast paced environment with lots of action, read on…

In summary...

We’re looking for a native French-speaking marketer to help us launch and grow in France, with particular focus on marketing and content planning. Reporting to the CMO but as part of an EU team, you will also work closely with our Growth, Creative and UK marketing teams to come up with new ideas and create content across multiple comms channels. You’ll be energetic, self-motivated, organised and, most importantly, excited by the chance to be part of building something from the ground up, backed by a UK business with proven success and an experienced team.

What you'll be doing...

Contributing to a France launch plan from a marketing point of view, ensuring we have the right content and channels set up to hit the ground running

Own the ongoing marketing plan for France. Specifically this means understanding our business plan for France and translating that into a full content and marketing activity to be delivered across organic social media, email marketing, referral programme, blogs, influencers and PR.

Working with the creative team to bring ideas to life, particularly video content.

All copywriting on above marketing comms (creating original content, as well as transcreating UK content where useful / relevant)

Running our social programmes, tackling Hygiene Poverty and sharing our BCorp programme and impact with customers.

Our growth team will drive all paid activity / performance marketing and also provide expertise regarding email, partnerships and influencers, so this role has a strong brand and comms focus.

Analysing simple data to assess results of activity and make recommendations for the future.

You will need/be...

Native French and professional level English but ideally UK based.

Passionate about working in a startup environment and driving more sustainable lifestyles for everyone.

Proven experience owning and delivering a marketing plan for a brand. We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a D2C business.

A really confident copywriter in French, with demonstrated experience creating a full breadth of copy and content - posts, reels, stories, blogs, photos, polls - either in personal or professional accounts.

Creative, full of ideas for content and confident to share them!

An energetic and enthusiastic approach, willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is needed to get the job done.

A hunger to learn from our experienced team and grow your career at an exciting, fast-growing company.

A team player who will enjoy working closely with the UK Creative and Marketing teams but also happy working independently.

Strong organisational skills, must be comfortable managing lots of tasks, prioritising your workload and working at speed.

What we offer...

A fantastic opportunity to be part of one of Europe's fastest growing, Series-B funded start-ups, and a certified B Corp!

An amazing culture and mission. A chance to make a difference in our shared future, eliminating or reducing the usage of plastic, water, toxic chemicals, energy and animal testing.

Working with an experienced, passionate team invested in helping you grow professionally.

25 days holiday per year + bank holidays

A volunteer day to spend on a cause you care about.

Flexible working from home and £150 towards your home office.

Credits for local co-working hubs when you’re out and about or just need a change of scenery.

A quarterly wellbeing allowance, provided by Juno.

A healthcare cashplan to cover everyday medical expenses, provided by BUPA

Enhanced parental leave policies - 16 weeks maternity full pay and 3 weeks full pay for the secondary caregiver.

The chance to benefit from our joint success via our share option scheme.
