Job description
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Stock Management To order supplies of medicines & containers etc, when needed To keep efficient stock control records & ensure that stock is not outdated before use To practise stock rotation, to ensure that the oldest stock is used first. Dispensing To receive, record & dispense, repeat & acute medicine requests Raise queries with the prescribing GP, if actual prescribed medicines vary from the prescription or the patient record. Undertake stringent checking procedures to ensure that dispensed drugs are as per prescribed & are for the correct patient. Arrange for the distribution of medicines to any external pick up points Ensure dispensed prescriptions are correctly endorsed To maintain product liability records at all times Management of Controlled drugs To ensure that all supplies of controlled drugs are stored in the controlled drugs safe, and that all required records of stock & stock movements are accurately kept.
