Franklin Sixth Form College is a thriving, successful sixth form college serving North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding rural and coastal area, with around 1,600 full-time 16-18 and 550 part-time adult students. Student Wellbeing Officer – Full time – 36 hrs per week or Part Time job share considered - Term Time Only – Permanent
We are pleased to announce this exciting opportunity for a Student Wellbeing Officer to join the pastoral team at Franklin College. It is a fast-paced job role where you can truly make a difference to student’s lives and future aspirations.
In this job role, your priority will be meeting the day to day needs of students who present with welfare and wellbeing issues. The interactions may be individual face to face or remote and would include small group sessions where appropriate. There will also be a focus on preventative measures including, for example, building emotional resilience and independence through signposting.
In addition you will undertake a variety of tasks including contributing to student records, helping to manage and coordinate student welfare and well-being support. You will also work closely with the Student Services Manager(s), progress coaches, learning support team and teaching staff. You will also provide support to the academic and senior management team as required on safeguarding and Prevent concerns.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to work with young people, and a chance to gain valuable experience of supporting students within a successful and vibrant sixth form college environment. Full training will be included.
Applicants must be educated to level 3 (A Level) and have a good level of English with excellent communication skills, empathetic and able to work under pressure.
Salary for the post will be on the Sixth Form College support pay scale, depending on qualification and experience, within the range NSP 5 to NSP 7 (currently £22,736 to £23,585) 36/37x195/229=0.8285 fte per annum (pro rata £18,836.78 to £19,540.17 per annum)
