This role is a key function within Logistics. The Imports Compliance Executive will work in the busy Imports team reporting to the Compliance Team Leader and supportsthe smooth and efficient importation of AJW’s goods through UK customs. Working side by side with the Logistics Operations and Freight Accounts teams, and dealing directly with our freight forwarders and couriers to provide UK customs clearance instructions for all our imports.

What you will be doing

• Responding to daily email requests for customs clearance instructions
• Liaising with other team members and departments on projects/queries
• Classifying components accurately using the UK trade tariff
• Capturing costs and recharging where applicable
• Assisting with queries via email and telephone
• Spot-checking of customs entries for any errors
• Working with logistics to ensure smooth transportation of our customer's goods
• Monitoring our import shipments and advising the relevant team of any delays

About you

• Previous Import, Logistics, or Aviation experience is beneficial but not essential, full training will be provided.
• Administrative experience gained from an office environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Collaboration skills and enjoys working as part of a team
• Keen attention to detail
• MS Excel experience
• Works well under pressure
