What will you be doing
• Agile Standards Lead is responsible for developing and evolving the Barclays UK (BUK) agile standards, in-line with industry best practices, and in conjunction with Group Change and Controls requirements, in support of the BUK strategy and our mission of being customer-obsessed, delivering iterative value at pace, while de-risking execution.
• The role holder will work closely with the Business Agility Lead and other Agile SMEs across the Group to co-create and integrate agile standards, techniques and tooling.
• Lead the co-creation of our BUK Agile standards, including the integration of our change taxonomy, workflow, events and personas with wider Group standards and non-agile touch points.
• Work with Agile experts across BUK and wider group to influence, identify and scale best practice standards.
• Lead and facilitate integration and potential changes to our change standards, tooling and annual / financial planning mechanisms.
• Proactively challenge the status quo where work practices can be made simpler and straightforward.
• Co-create our ways of working maturity roadmap based on a range of data points across BUK, and informed by industry and cross-Group trends.
• Act as a thought leader on evolving and industry standards and techniques to ensure our BUK execution method remains relevant and appropriate.
• Inspire and act as the go-to person for Agile techniques, strategies and tooling to help integrate industry practice and principles across BUK Pods.
• Be a strong team player within the Execution Method team, collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to support the full portfolio of ways of working activity across BUK
• Responsible for building relationships across BUK PODs, EPs and shared teams, as well as amongst cross-Group Agile leaders.
• Interacting with senior internal stakeholders, the role holder will be required to show strong negotiation and influencing skills, working cross-functionally to champion the vision for our ways of working transformation.
What we’re looking for
• This role requires the role holder to possess a high level of analytic skills, problem solving, management of data and insight, and will require the ability to resolve a wide variety of complex business problems at pace to support the business in making critical decisions, which support the BUK strategy.
• Significant experience in leading the development and implementation of scaled Agile methodology, and in managing agile teams and projects, and in applying agile frameworks and methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.
• Balanced approach between driving industry standards and taking pragmatic steps to mature capability.
• Natural communicator, able to converse and ‘win hearts and minds’ across a range of organisation levels and Agile experience.
• Able to translate method theory into practical tangible examples of customer value, and story tell around these successes.
• Creative and experimental approach, with the ability to identify opportunities for rapid proving of value before scaling more widely.
• Highly motivated, proactive and adaptable, with a growth mindset and a passion for agile delivery and continuous improvement.
• Experience defining and implementing Agile operating models within a complex, fast changing environment.
• Has experience working with non-agile teams and translating industry standard Agile methodologies to business stakeholders
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentations skills targeting various stakeholders and senior management.
• Proven track record in Lean Portfolio Management and driving planning and prioritisation processes.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directives.
Skills that will help you in your role
• Experienced practitioner in value based management techniques.
• Strong conceptual thinker with ability to translate this into pragmatic recommendations.
• Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum Management principles & tools e.g. Jira, Jira Align
• Agile certifications (e.g. SAFe) preferred
Where will you be working
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within or at one of our UK hubs on Knutsford, Northampton or Glasgow.
